Program Highlights

The school year at South Shore Country Day Shool began with a “fun”tastic summer. We rode a Magic Time Machine back to Dinosaur Days, Noah’s Ark, and the Old West. During Dinosaur Days, we had a visit from Cassie on Dragon Tales. Our petting zoo came with many animals from Noah’s Ark, and, in the Old West, our cowgirls and cowboys rode ponies. Riding on a trackless train was the most fun of all! (See pictures of all our fun events on the photo album pages of this website.) We splished and splashed on Splash Days, and we had a great time every day on the big boat climbing equipment under the trees on our wonderful playground. Even rainy days were fun on the play equipment in our indoor gym. Finally, we rode our Magic Time Machine to the Land of Super Heroes where we met Spider Man!
In August, we began our new school year with The HighReach Learning Curriculum (see the link for HighReach.com on this website). Fall festivities, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with a visit from Santa filled our first semester with celebration, and we learned so much. With the beginning of the new year, we look forward to Valentine's Day, pony riding on Rodeo Day, and a visit from The Easter Bunny for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Our petting zoo will come to help us welcome Spring with many new baby animals! Our private school program is like no other. We combine curriculum based instruction including art, music, and computer with holiday celebrations, special events, and activities like the visits from our shetland ponies, trackless train, mini hay wagon, petting zoo, and children's entertainers like Mickey Mouse, Elmo, Scooby Doo, and Spider Man. We are privately owned and directed; we are not a part of any child care chain. Therefore we are free to design a program that meets our children's specific needs, complements our curriculum, and, most importantly, is fun. We know that children learn best when learning is fun! Upon completion of our program, our students demonstrate high levels of achievement, beyond what would be expected of students at their age. We can and do prepare our children for the Honor Roll!
If you are a new parent, we have an excellent program of care and nurturing for infants and toddlers; come to see us! If you are not completely satisfied where you are and feel your child's school should be doing more, come to see us! If your child is not eager to go to school in the morning and does not come home excited about what he or she has learned, come to see us!
